What makes you feel nostalgic?

Smiles no not smiles smells,

Yesterday I was missing my mom to tears,

Has been three years,

Mom always wore lavender,

Smells are connected with our senses and our memories,

Sometimes ghosts are known for being where they are because of the scent of rose,

When I was in 7th grade Ann Ryan and I were walking home,

Annie’s grandma lived on 4th Street Southwest,

When we walk by her Grandma’s house I got the smell of something foul,

To this day I have no clue what that was,

All I know for certain is I was sick as a dog the next day,

It must have been the flu,

I knew no one was ill,

It was that smell I just know it,

I bet if I smelled it today 53 years later,

I don’t have a doubt,

I would still throw up,

Clothing makes you nostalgic also,

I can remember where I was and what I was doing,

These are memory markers,

If I close my eyes I can see my mom sitting at the table making potato salad it took her 5 hours to make potato salad it was so good and it went so fast I miss her so much!
