reflections on a funeral

her name is Caroline,

I never spent any time with her,

we never met,

still I say I know her ,

I would have met her,

younger and different,

my mother Marion and Caroline would have been buds,

in my head I hear the song from Patty Duke show,

Caroline and mom talked alike,

Caroline love to cook,

Caroline loved her family and her God,

Red hat lady,

Love to play bridge,

Cook with her grandchildren,

Carolyn had her funeral all planned out everything scriptures and songs,

The priest came down by the coffin and the priest saying ‘Sweet Caroline,’

Caroline’s favorite snack for Snickers,

The priest passed around little tiny Snickers,

It was a terrific send-off,

My prayers go with you Caroline,
