It was on a TV show it was a firefighter show I believe it’s called Rescue me. I never thought much about this character until I saw the real guy figuratively not virtually.
I think it was NBC was doing a documentary of the towers going down, bombing 2001 September. I remember that day so clearly I was working in Virginia Skyline Lodge , Shenandoah National Park.
So he was telling his story. He had been a volunteer fireman ,New York City. he wasn’t on duty but he heard the sirens and he rushed to the fire station that he volunteered of and he put on his his uniform and he was there he was in the present he was at the towers he wasn’t inside.
He said Ash was falling just layering everything. It was in that moment that I saw this actor in a new revised light. a hero runs where others feared to go he went to the towers you didn’t blow it off and say there’s someone else do it.
I have since been a fan of his I don’t remember seeing him in anything else. For comment below to go into the bowels of hell that takes guts. Dennis lost family in the towers. they’re probably a handful of people I would love to meet someday this comic like myself I’d like to meet a shook Michelle Obama’s hand when she and her husband were campaign in my little hometown of Waukon Iowa. Shook Michelle’s hand right in front of the movie theater where I had used to be the projector projectionist I guess I called.
