What were your parents doing at your age?
Dad had retired but not really after dad retired dad and Mom took their three farms into the rodeo business. Mom always did Dad’s books whether he was in the office as a chiropractor or as a rodeo stock contractor. mom did the worrier and the financing part.
They had 101 head who forces register American paints and register American quarter horses. our brand was a three with an h through the bottom of the three. it was the triple h (Heike’s Hilly Haven).
Had two rodeos at the Allamakee County Fair. Most of the rodeos were on the farm he had bleaches and everything. Dad had rode drunk and bull when he was a young man.
In his chiropractic office he was Dr.L.N.Heike. It depends during rodeos he was just Doc. carry coppertox(it’s like iodine you spray it on and it takes care of the toxins in a wound) in his pocket and his jackknife.
Mom cooked for her grandson’s for church in high school.Mother also did the colt registering. To register colts ( paints )you have to have several pictures of all the colts and for a quarter horses you have to have pictures. Several names are selected. The names are selected but you don’t get to keep the names somebody else goes through and decides what names are best for your colts. I think that’s dumb.
