Doc’s clue for what of the lecture was going to be on an exam was,
This is a meat and potatoes of the lecture,
You better take that to the bank,
The good doctor would have covered a whole bunch of other stuff,
He always said that they would never put on an exam anything that was detrimental to us if we paid attention,
I was the oldest in his classes,
He gave the most magnificent hugs,
If we never was bigoted against me,
Bigotedness was reserved for his only son,
The good professor,
Acted as if he had no clue,
How to respond to his only son,
With his son came out as gay,
I met you son at a PFLAG¹ rally,
My professor,
Love history and psychology,
Whose wife was usually upset about,
Is a full-time job making sure she was okay and wasn’t going to take her life,
Preparing for class,worried that others would see that this man of the cloth,
Was experiencing extreme trauma and doubt,
No clue how to take his beautiful work of art coming out to the world announcing he was gay,
I meant to upom many occasions tell him that I too was gay but I didn’t,
