What major historical events do you remember?
While working a shine door National Park,
It was a waiting in my Barbara and her mom from Buffalo New York,
The entire housekeeping staff which I was one of,
Working for Aramark in the Shenandoah National Park Skyland Lodge concession,
Huddled around the TV,
There are a few TVs at the lodge at the time
It was figured you go to a national park to walk and enjoy nature and see wildlife,
No one expected our towers in the twin towers in New York school crash into the Earth,
It was a black day,
Terrorist had hijacked three planes,
Melissa Etheridge wrote a poem turned into music about one of the men board the plane that crashed not into our nation’s capital but in a field in Pennsylvania,
It was gay man he called his husband to say goodbye they had one phone call,
Many heroes that day died either trying to get out of exploding buildings were taking back a plane,
The firefighters in New York who played the highest price,
Too many American heroes died when the towers fell,
I will always remember that warm September Day back in 2001,
