Yesterday sounds like cliche,
Seems like yesterday,
It was Sunday,
Six pm,Walt Disney was on NBC,
Then off to the kitchen I go,
Being the gay kid musicals and theater was my thing,
So I was vanished to the kitchen,
I was fine with that,
I spent Saturday afternoons usually in the kitchen sitting on a stool by the cook stove,
Sitting on that stool,
As close as I get to the stove,
The warmest I could be,
Rest of family watched mysteries under afgans,
The warmest place in the kitchen,by the stove, butter froze in the cupboard, no insulation you see,
I didn’t mind,
I’d have an ironstone bowl with either recess pieces or m&m’s over the water reservoir,
The candy coating gets hot, you see then when you pinch them before popping them in the chocolate is all melty,
The show I had waited for all week was about to start,
Sometimes I’d watch while washing up from supper,
I’d sing along,
‘You got me babe!’
Cher, still going strong,
Seems like yesterday,
Sonny loved Cher,
Now Cher still hot dating a boy younger then her children,
I will always have that warm and cozy feeling and remember watching Cher and Sonny,
For all eternity,
When I’m sad and beyond lonely,
I’m that kid at that moment, popping another hot M&M in my mouth watching not realizing that I’m a gay kid not knowing what gay meant,
I was like the world madly in love,
With a woman named Cher,
Know exactly where I was when this song, one of my favorite songs hit.But I truly heard it when Cher sang it. https://youtu.be/gOJTKpzqk6M?si=HjE0ZqbiFVsboZxE
